General Contest Info: 

• CDE Date: Thursday, March 7, 2024
• 10:00 AM - Sign in/Receive Scantrons
• 10:15 AM - CDE Start Time
  
• Scantrons will be provided for all chapters that have paid their 2022-2023 Regional FFA Dues
• Location = Walters State Community College in Morristown - Clifford Bo Henry Center for Business and Technology. For directions see: http://ws.edu/campuses/morristown/directions/
• One alternate team per contest is allowed. 
• Official Dress is NOT required.

• Register for Nursery/Landscape CDE HERE
• The top 4 teams in the Regional CDE qualify for the State CDE in April at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.
• The Regional CDE will follow the state CDE rules. Rules are located in the Page Documents at the bottom of this page.
• The General Knowledge Exam will have 50 multiple choice questions chosen from the test bank located in the page documents at the bottom of this page. Only 30 min allowed to take the exam instead of 50 min.
• 50 total ID’s will be given (40 Plant, 5 Disorder, 5 Equipment).
• Materials Students Need to Provide:
  • A clear, transparent clipboard with no notes
  • At least two No. 2 pencils
  • A ball-point or felt-tip pen
  • A non-programmable calculator - Calculators used in this event should be battery operated, nonprogrammable and silent with large keys and large displays. Calculators may have only these functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, equals, percent, square root, +/- key and one memory register. No other calculators are allowed to be used during the event.

• The top 4 teams in the Regional CDE qualify for the State CDE in April at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. 
• The Regional CDE will follow Tennessee FFA Floriculture CDE rules. Rules are located in the Page Documents at the bottom of this page.
• The General Knowledge Exam will have 50 multiple choice questions chosen from the test bank located in the Page Documents at the bottom of this page. 
• The Problem Solving will come from past National CDE’s. (Only 30 min allowed to do the Problem Solving instead of 50 min.)
• All Plant ID’s will be live/actual specimen. Equipment ID will be actual or photograph. 50 total ID’s will be given (40 Plant, 10 Equipment).
• Team Activity will be: prepare floral products for an event.
• Materials students need to provide:
  • Clear, transparent clipboard, free of notes
  • Two sharpened No. 2 pencils
  • Floral cutters/clippers
  • Ribbon shears
  • Wire cutters
  • Floral knife
  • Calculator- Should be battery operated, non-programmable and non-scientific (basic five
    function only). No other calculators are allowed to be used during the event.
  • Participants may also bring an apron, and/or a tool belt and towels.
